La Casa Universal de Justicia, ordenada por Bahá'u'lláh como la autoridad legislativa de la Fe Bahá'í, comenzó a existir en 1963. Es una institución de nueve miembros elegida a intervalos de cinco años por todos los miembros de las instituciones directivas del mundo bahá'í.

Las Casa de Justicia dirige los asuntos espirituales y administrativos de la comunidad internacional bahá'í. También sirve como custodia y fideicomisaria de los lugares sagrados bahá'ís y otras propiedades en Tierra Santa. Dotada por Bahá'u'lláh de la autoridad para legislar en todos los asuntos no establecidos en las escrituras baháís, la Casa de Justicia es la institución que mantiene a la comunidad bahá'í al día en un mundo en cambio constante.
