A Casa Universal de Justiça, ordenada por Bahá'u'lláh como a autoridade legislativa da Fé Bahá'í, veio à existência em 1963. É um corpo formado por nove membros eleito a cada cinco anos por todos os membros das instituições governantes nacionais do mundo bahá'í.

A Casa Universal de Justiça dirige os assuntos espirituais e administrativos da Comunidade Internacional Bahá'í. Ela atua, também, como guardiã e administradora dos Lugares Sagrados Bahá'ís e de outras propriedades na Terra Santa. Investida por Bahá'u'lláh com a autoridade de legislar sobre todas as escrituras bahá'ís, a Casa Universal de Justiça é a instituição que mantém a comunidade bahá'í em sintonia com um mundo em constante mudança.
